Research area

Dr. Robert Dellavalle’s dermatoepidemiology laboratory in the Department of Dermatology in the University of Colorado School of Medicine has been awarded a fully funded big data inflammatory skin disease research fellowship (Pfizer Dermatology Fellowship 2020).

Specific Position Duties with Percentages of Time

100% of time commitment for 40 hours/week.

Summary of position:

The successful candidate will perform big data research with the Observational Health Data and Science Informatics (OHDSI.org) program under the direction of Dr. Dellavalle, Dr. Lisa Schilling, Dr. David Norris and in collaboration with biostatistical support.  There are six months remaining on this fellowship, January 1, 2022 – June 30, 2022.

  1. Conduct and publish two research projects for examining AD big data questions in OHDSI.

Methods and Analysis

The goal of the fellowship is to provide research support and training to a dermatology fellow interested in pursuing cutting edge, big data research on atopic dermatitis and inflammatory and immune-mediated skin disease outcomes using the combined resources of the University of Colorado Department of Dermatology, the University of Colorado’s Data Science to Patient Value (D2V) Initiative, the Colorado Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute, Health Data Compass, and Health Science Library.

Expected Timeline of Research Progress (This is a six-month project)

Data analyses: Jan. 2021-Feb. 2021

Manuscript writing:  Feb.-April 2021

Manuscript submission: May 2021

Project wrap up: June 2021

Supervision Exercised

This position can have supervisory responsibilities of medical students, undergraduates or research or student assistants.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $53,760 to $60,000.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Minimum Requirements:

  • MD

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
